This course aims to provide nurses and healthcare professionals in general practice with essential skills for assessing and managing common paediatric minor illnesses. Participants will develop practical skills in history taking, assessments, and diagnosis to safely and effectively manage minor childhood illnesses in a general practice setting.

Learners will understand the importance of early recognition of an unwell patient and the role of the healthcare support worker in this process. They will learn to assess an unwell patient, identify 'red flag' physiological presentations and their potential causes, describe levels of urgency in mental health, and utilise tools for patient assessment.
